Every chapter
Every chapter is a fresh field of ten million cells with its own name and its own ground. Constellation chapters are named after their sky. In the other worlds, chapters 1 to 12 are named after their ground, and from chapter 13 each one has a theme. In Classic and Depths each theme buries its own set of eight pixel-art pictures.

The twelve grounds
- Plain Ground
- Ordinary ground.
- Rich Ground
- Seams run everywhere here — and rich veins thread right across the field.
- Quiet Ground
- Little to find on the way. The pictures are larger.
- Brittle Ground
- Quick going, the softest rock in the game — and one cell breaking cracks the rock beside it.
- Stubborn Ground
- Hard going. The toughest rock in the game.
- Singing Ground
- The ground keeps telling you where things are.
- Fractured Ground
- Rock gives way quickly, the field is lean — and soft fault lines cut across it, racing a dig down them.
- Gilded Ground
- Rich seams reward a fleet able to work tougher rock.
- Monumental Ground
- The largest pictures in the game make recovery itself the challenge.
- Hollow Ground
- Finds are scarce, but a current runs through the hollows and carries the whole fleet along.
- Overgrown Ground
- Abundant, larger finds in moderately resistant ground — and the rock grows back, so out-dig it.
- Ancient Ground
- Hard, generous, resonant ground filled with large pictures.
